The Power of Love by Kemberlee Shortland

Get out the kleenex! This heartwarming short story is filled with love, emotion and the spirit of giving. Short but sweet it is packed with a lifetime of love. I didn’t know how it would end but knew that Elaine and Ethan would be able to endure whatever they faced due to the true love that bonded their souls together. This is a romance that I believe should be read every year as a reminder of what true love is and what it can do.

Sive has decided to make a choice on St. Patrick’s Day – a big choice that could impact her future significantly. In the midst of all the hoopla of the celebrations taking place in Dublin we meet the three men in Sive’s life and hear her thoughts as she tries to determine which one might be her forever guy. This novella is more than a love story. It tells of the growth in character of Sive, gives history of the city and provides an ending that is better than even Sive expected. This is a well-crafted, well-told story that had me riveted and rooting for Sive throughout. And, the guy she ends up with would be any woman’s dream!

I am third generation Irish and love anything related to this beautiful country and its culture. That being said, I love Ms. Shortland's stories, this is the second in the Irish Pride series that I have read, didn't matter that I read them out of order either as they each feature different characters.

Rhythm of My Heart features Eilis Kennedy, a musician promoter and Kieran Vaughn a musician. Eilis discovers Kieran and the attraction is instantaneous, sparks flying all over the place. Eilis finds that Kieran is extremely talented and she wants to promote him. Kieran is playing gigs at seedy pubs in Dublin, feels that he will never get anywhere in his career. Eilis enters his life and things will never be the same.

Fergus Manley, Eilis's boss is a lecherous man who Eilis evades at all costs, but with the attraction between Eilis and Kieran, Fergus's lust for Eilis gets the better of him to the point that he becomes very dangerous. As Kieran accepts Eilis's offer to help him get his music noticed they give in to their attraction to each other, but danger lurks for the lovers that could destroy them.

Kemberlee Shortland tells an exciting story, full of descriptions of Dublin and it's music, almost had me feeling that I could hear the sounds and smells of the pubs. This sexy romantic story will have you wanting more. I look forward to reading the another one of her books.

First off let me say that I love Ireland and I am fascinated with stone circles, and this book has both. This novel by Kemberlee Shortland takes place not too far from Dublin on adjoining farms. Kate and Mick grew up together and she has always been in love with him. She took care of Mick's parents, who considered her one of their own, and Kate was extremely saddened after the deaths of both parents. She was angry at Mick for not being there for his parents. When it came time for the reading of the will for Mick's father (Donal) they were both in for a huge surprise...good or bad?? I will let you determine that when you read the book and read the book you must. A very delightful story with lots of action, love scenes and devious people. Lot's of sparks flying around too! Did I mention there was a murder?? Yup... so what are you waiting for? Go get yourself a copy of this book, you will not be disappointed. The next book in the series Constant Craving is also available which I will of course be reading.
