A great introductory guide to the 'General American' accent prized by Hollywood and much theatre, by an American - Shapiro - who has worked as a director and teacher in Australia for many years. As a result, he has tailored his lessons specifically for Australian speakers, and shows how learning how to speak 'GenAm' can then be transferred into all other types of American accents.

This is a very good book accompanied by a useful CD, although - as Shapiro says in his introduction - you'll need to accompany this with your own learning and many hours of practice, particularly handy by grabbing some books and scripts written for American readers and speakers, and working with them yourself.… (más)
