This a revealing book that describes how male students and female students experience college differently. For example, one revealing tidbit is that female students outperform male students but have less confidence and self-esteem. The author also shows that the self-esteem of female students decreases when they interact with faculty outside of class. The book draws its conclusion from prior research such as the CIRP Freshmen Survey and the College Senior Survey. Consequently, the reading is a little tedious as she sorts through the details of those surveys, but there are still many interesting nuggets in the book.… (más)
