Given his lack of understanding of the detailed arguments set forth in this book, it is highly likely that Gomez never read its contents. One cannot merely read the dust jacket or press release and draw a rational, informed conclusion. He appears to be uninformed about the portion of the book that demonstrates in a lucid manner that science is based on a leap of faith concerning the continuing reliability of the laws of nature (physics). The faith based nature of science was noted by Albert Einstein, his Princeton colleague, physicist John Wheeler and Physicist Paul Davies in a recent New York Times op-ed piece. Overman clearly sets forth their arguments in a detailed section of his book. If one bothers to read the contents, one will find them far from fuzzy, but clear and precise.

Overall, the book is a clear and razor sharp presentation of a thoughtful approach to the question of the existence of God. It does not attempt to impose the author's beliefs on his readers, but sets forth a logical framework for addressing the most significant questions. In his biographical sketch at the end of the book, I note that Overman is a member of the ISPE and Triple Nine Societies, organizations with monitored admission standards 20 times more restrictive than Mensa. One would expect his analysis to be precise and demanding. The book succeeds in challenging and stretching the mind and heart of the reader.
