NCLA Review - The author of this book lives in a world I do not inhabit. She firmly and truly believes that the husband is the "head of the spiritual household" and states that several times in her book. It was a stumbling block for me as I have always believed that your faith is your own. I wanted to read this as I thought it would help me to understand my own family situation, however, I came away feeling as though the wife, mother and "helpmate" in the book were of another era. The author is a dedicated Christian, I can tell that by her sharing of her ideas of the ways to talk to your children and the ways that living your life is a witness to your beliefs. But some of her chapters sound a little too "pat". There aren't answers to everything in black and white. Sometimes I grow more in the gray areas, when I'm learning to listen with my heart instead of my ears or eyes. I would rate this book a 2. Some may find great comfort in her way of looking at things, but I did not. Rating: 2 —CP . 180p, paper, Navpress 2007,, $12.99 [248.84]
