"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

Reading this book, I can't help thinking about one old episode of a Twilight zone, wherein the whole episode, you could only see the actors' bodies, not their faces. In that episode, the plot was that some girl had multiple plastic surgeries on her face because she was ugly. After the final surgery, they took the bandages off at the end of the episode. Everybody was appalled by her face, the camera raised and showed that she was beautiful. Then the camera showed other people's faces who were by this world standards completely deformed. Beauty is just another standard, and that makes it a lie.

This book is wonderful. It shows every human virtue and every human flaw. Read this book! Don't judge people by their look, judge them by their souls. I know this sounds like a utopia, but we will fail as human race unless we learn to appreciate others' spirit and soul.

The story is centered around a young woman who is forced to marry against her will. As you will see in the story first the disbelief, then the denial and then she caves, but not for long. What would make a father force his own daughter to marry someone she detests? You've got to read to find out more.

A masterful author, Marissa Marchan, has created a fantastically romantic escape, horrifying, seductive, and suspenseful world that I am sure will excite everyone, not just for fans of YA, criminology, and suspense. I was drawn in from the beginning by this alternate world and the very modern young adults who race through it in this tale of struggle, self-discovery, and perseverance. The characters are compelling and thrilling to follow throughout their life journeys. Terrific read!

I mean...who doesn't like a narrative of tragedy and pain to end on a high note. Mrs. Millionaire and the Delivery Girl made me smile because it left me thinking about redemption in a way. Precisely as the God of the Bible loves on us and showers us with kindness - at times we're left feeling undeserving. Hence it was with Nancy, with all the bad decisions she made in life, she could hardly believe the goodness two strangers showed her in a desperate time of need.

The author did a great job to draw in the reader and hook them early on in the story. The road can be tough at times and this story really gives you a sense of appreciation for all you have. The children are smart and loving characters. The story unfolds quickly and in the end gives you a jolt of enthusiasm that leaves you with a smile on your face. Highly recommend this book.

Growing up, I was a huge fan of Roald Dahl. I enjoyed his themes of good things happening to good little kids and bad things happening to the insufferable/vain ones and ones who were cruel to animals. Plus, he was just a darn good storyteller.

Without spoiling anything, the themes of this story reminded me of Roald Dahl in all of the right ways. Needless to say, I loved it. Bought the first book for my niece, and we read it together. We did the same with this one, and it was such great fun each night to read a chapter together. It was something we both looked forward to.

The pace is quick and just right for kids. The story has a moral, without feeling heavy-handed. There was a feel-good vibe to the book, which is nice during this tough time for the world. And we absolutely fell in love with Tilly. We will be buying the entire series!

I thoroghly enjoyed this book. I loved her descriptions of Italy, how she fell in love, how she realized she needed to become a better person, and lastly, the beautiful relationship she developed with a homeless woman. I don't want to give the plot away, but the homeless woman helps her uncover a terrible scheme, and that is how they become so close. Beautifully written, and just an all over "feel good" type of book.
