The Story was good, and I like the way the author wrote the two points of view of the main characters. This one was a little slow but still a pretty good book.

In this first installment of the trilogy Luna is what appears to be your average high school student, not a part of the in crowd but that's ok with her, she doesn't like them anyway, and she has her best friend Violet to hang out with. Chance is the most handsome and popular boy in school. Popular with everyone but Luna that is. She can't stand him, yet he stalks her on a daily basis. Other girls would love to have his attention but he is only interested in Luna and will not take no for an answer.
I thought this was gearing up to be your typical stalker thriller, but there is more to it than that. Chance has the ability not just to mess with Luna in this world but can even invade and control her dreams. There is a reason Luna is the only one who sees through Chance's false charm. There is a reason Luna is afraid to tell what she knows, and maybe nobody would believe her anyway. This story has a lot of elements going on at once. I hate to say maybe it was too many, but in a way for me it seemed to muddy up the story line a bit. There is a lot of action and suspense in this young adult thriller, and while it left me anxious to find out where it was heading and what would happen next there were some things that bothered me. Luna's home life left a bit to be desired. Her mother is only described as a strict business woman, other than that she is not really in the picture. This leaves Luna alone with her father David whose actions felt very unrealistic to me. (For example "punishing" Luna by forcing her to go to dinner and a dance.) On the one hand Luna is afraid for her life and the lives her friends (with good reason I might add!) yet on the other hand she is also easily manipulated with just a threat of being grounded. I did enjoy parts of this very creative tale.

I'm amazed at the author's skill in keeping my attention. Never did my interest wane. This was a long monologue by an ostensibly unlikeable person, so it was no mean feat to keep it convincing and keep the pages turning.

Lilith is an eighteen year old who grew up believing she was unequipped (had no magic), injured as a child by magic causing her to be labeled a cripple. Lilith's inner dialogue makes it sound like she needs all this help because of her injury but it's clear that while she has some limitations she's ambulatory all by herself, so this was weird to read.

As Lilith's class nears the time for their Arcane Ceremony Lilith discovers she has telekentic powers. She doesn't have a lot of control over her powers, and her testing on animals really made me dislike her initially, and it took some time before I began to warm up to her.

She grew up on Ignus and should have pyrokentic powers not telekentic and she's freaked out how her friends, family and coven will react to her power not being the same as her covens.

Lilith's Arcane Ceremony reveals more about her than she expected at the same time a rival Coven wishing to take down the current ruling Coven attacks one of the Council. This event is the start of Lilith's journey down the rabbit hole. It will lead to her finding out more about her world, the fairies and her past.

This first book in the trilogy will leave you with more questions than answers, There's some suspension of belief items for me that kept pulling me out of the story but it does have some interesting characters. This story will leave you hanging so if you don't like that sort of thing you may want to wait until the next installment has been released so you can have it ready to read as soon as you finished this one.

I received a free copy of this book through Booksirens, am voluntarily leaving a review. More of my reviews can be found at https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com/

3.75 of 5 stars

Listened to audio narrated by Lynn Norris.

Lilith has been taken by the Elementals where she get's surprise after surprise, everything she thought she knew was a lie. She must learn how fit in with her new coven, as well as use her new found powers because the war is only ramping up.

I enjoyed this second book more than the first but I still struggled with Lilith's immaturity and temper tantrums and very self-absorbed behavior. I realize this is a YA but I had hoped Lilith would have shown more growth in this second installment, maybe it will happen in the next book.

As with all good trilogies there is an ending but there are also a lot of dangling threads making you want to know what's going to happen next, so you may want to have the third book, 'The Sage' handy.

WARNING! This review is going to be full of spoilers because I can't explain the problems I had with the story without revealing what happened in the story.

The book is titled 'The Sage' and I spent the entire book wondering why. I expected the story to either switch to the Sage's point of view or watching Lilith in the role of Sage but that isn't the case, and the final conflict between the Lilith and the Sage was pretty anti-climatic. The majority of the book is a lot of poor Lilith and her feeling worthless because of the damage to her legs. I really wished the author had taken the opportunity to show how valuable she still was despite her injuries. We spend a good deal of the book listening to her wallow as well as a another big lie being kept from her to feed her pity party. I really wanted Lilith to shine despite her disability and that just doesn't happen, she gets fixed and then she's queen of the world because she's whole again, bleh. Don't get me wrong I wanted and fully expected her to be healed at some point but the fact she only took on the world AFTER she was healed was a disappointment and a lost opportunity in my opinion.

Her coven is dying from a magical illness and it seems nothing can be done but watch characters die until they conveniently raise one of the council witches from the dead that had the power to cure them. Except the last time he used his magic to cure a magical illness it striped the witch of her power as well as made it impossible for Willow to raise them from the dead. But when Lilith gets healed it apparently had no affect on her magical abilities... inconsistency drives me batty.

Listened to audio narrated by Katrina Medina. The audio was inconsistent, different volumes, sometimes sounding close then faraway for no apparent reason.

Luna is a grouchy Muslim girl who spends a lot of time being angry, placating her father and trying to avoid her own personal stalker named Chase.
Chase is the popular, good looking, I've got everything boy at school who is a psychopath and he wants Luna.

None of the characters are very likeable, the dream world and it's warriors are suppose to be strong but come across as impotent. It's confusing when we're told if you die there you die in real life yet, folks are killed in the dream world, but aren't dead. It doesn't make sense.

Luna's supposed BFF who's crushing on Chase, works to help Chase get Luna. Luna wants nothing to do with Chance, yet over and over again she's involved with him. She knows he's a murderer but let's him in her house, it just boggles the mind and her father punishing her by forcing her to go on a date with Chace seemed absurd.

This is a very creepy read but because of the above issues and more the story just didn't work for me.

This book embodies the meaning of the old saying - if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. The plot revolves around Samantha a seventeen year old and her closest friends figuring that out the hard way. There is plenty of paranormal horror to keep the pages turning.

A fantastic young adult read encompassing multi-genres. I won't give away what happens, but I can tell you I can't wait to read more and find out how Samantha handles an unexpected visit.

Book 2 picks up where book one left off. Samantha is juggling a teen life, school, her family, the devastation of losing friends and being a werewolf. Clyde has tasted blood as a vampire. His humanity is all but gone, when he comes for her. Lance isn't about to let that happen.

There are a lot of emotions running wild in this book. Friendships lost are hard to deal with and Sam has a hard time letting go. That leads to a mess someone has to clean up.

I enjoyed the story, but the ending felt a bit abrupt. I guess I'll have to grab the next book to find out what happens.

What a roller coaster ride! Witches on one side demons on the other - mortal enemies and an age-old treaty to keep the boundaries of their lands.

A dead witch fuels the need for investigation - Talia accepts the challenge and heads into territory unknown. What she finds isn't all as she expected.

I just have to say - I love Mushroom! I want a Mushroom!

An amazing novella from start to finish!

Connecting with one character in a book is rare for me, but poor Luna! The range of emotions I went through reading about her was amazing. We follow her story as she attempts to deal with grief and fear from the past and worries over the baby that will be her future. Readers have a look inside her mind. What's real and what isn't? With ore to come in the series I think the answer lies ahead.

Notes: The Christmas Day scenes I found particularly moving.

That opening - Wow - so emotional. I could feel the pain. The Sage is another great instalment in the series. It has everything a paranormal read should - magic, twists, a dead sister, a bleak future on the horizon and an injured witch trying to bring it all together and save the day.

I loved it.

Oops I did it again - bought books out of order - luckily this one can stand alone! After reading it, I need to go back to the beginning and grab the first in the series.
I've read other books by this author and when it comes to magic and magical relationships, Krantz is an expert. I haven't read nearly enough of her works, but I plan on rectifying that.
This is quite the storyline - Imagine being killed, fining yourself stuck existing between life and death in your own personal version of Hell. Yeah - yuck--but it makes for a 5 star read!

OMG! Sam & Lance go through so much - up-down-sideways-backwards. It's quite the ride and I loved every second of it. Weres & Vamps are hard to pull off these days, but Krantz does it brilliantly. A must read for supernatural and paranormal fans like me!

Wow - this is what a book should be... thrilling, exciting, frightening. Krantz has done it again keeping her spot at the top of my go-to author list!

I loved this book! I won't spoil it for anyone, but with what happens I can't wait to find out in what direction the next installment goes.

I've read a number of books by this author and I have to say I've enjoyed them all. The council was equally as captivating as Krantz's other works. I'd classify it as a young adult read, but I think most ages would love this magical tale.

Features a strong leading female role coming into her own, a whole lot of magic, and witches all shrouded in mystery. I'll be reading the rest of the trilogy!

Author Krantz has displayed a writing style that flows time after time. What I Did is no different, being well-written with believable characters. Jessica (MC) is gloomy, anxiety ridden, self-hating introvert. It sounds terrible, but she is totally relatable.

I literally stayed up all night just to finish this one! I'll probably give it a second read in the future too! You I loved it!

I received this ebook in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Luna is in her senior year of highschool. She has one friend, Violet. Luna keeps to herself, head down, and is just trying to get through her last year of school. Chance is the popular kid. He could get any girl he wants. When he starts showing an interest in Luna, she knows that there must be some ulterior motive seeing how he has never done anything but annoy her.

The dreams that Luna has seem so real. It's the same dream, over and over, sometimes picking up where it left off. She soon finds out that what happens in the dreams, happens in real life. Can she stop the fusion of the two before she and her friends end up dead?

This book was different. A little Freddy Krueger-ish. It took me a day and a half to get through the first chapter but once I did, I couldn't put it down! It turned out to be one of those that you have to know what happens next. I ended up being very impressed with Ms. Krantz's writing.

In the third book of the Witch's Ambitions trilogy, we find Lilith injured after the last battle. Now both her legs are damaged, and she can't walk. She's acquired more information about her mother, none of it good. Meanwhile, a magical sickness is attacking the witches of Willow's coven and she finds she can't reanimate them.
I found this book a little slower in pace than the first two. There's one battle, but it's off-scene, so the story is mostly about the conflicts existing within Willow's coven and how Lilith deals with the various characters there. It's a good ending to the series which resolves Lilith's battle with the Council and gives hope to those left in the Land of Five.
The series as a whole is an interesting world of witches not quite like anything I've seen before. I liked the idea of the covens divided by their powers. The ultimate betrayal of the Sage, the witch who rules them all, and Lilith's resolve to overcome her makes for an interesting dynamic and a good read.

This is a sweet novella about a subject I haven't seen covered much in fiction, especially in the romance genre. Erica suffers from OCD, mostly having to replicate action three times. Ms. Krantz does a nice job explaining her compulsions and how Erica tries to cope with them. She attends her support group and sets up mechanisms to help her when she gets a new job. Her friend Kara helps though sometimes Kara seems manipulative, pushing her at Blaine, a guy at her new job.
I know little about this disorder but the subject matter is compelling. My only quibble is the book was too short. I would have liked to hear more about Blaine and seen an exploration of their relationship as it grew. Also, while dealing with Christmas lights is covered, I'd have liked to see how Christmas stresses someone with OCD. Still, it's a nice quick story and well-worth reading.

The Council, by Kayla Kratz immediately drew me in with its complex world-building and loveable characters. Lilith's past has always been a bit of a mystery, but on the day of a special ceremony, the pieces begin to fall into place.

Lilith was a wonderfully crafted character. I grew to love her sarcastic and rather blunt way of interacting with others and was grateful for those brief moments where I got to see how vulnerable she truly is.

Clio, best friend to Lilith is a quirky and humorous young flame adept. Their close friendship which bordered on romantic made for a charming change from the full on romances that seem to dominate most modern young adult titles.

The author has crafted an intricate plot that will keep you guessing as Lilith navigates her growing powers and sense of responsibility. I read through with wild abandon, never wanting to set this book down for a moment. There was some beautiful imagery in this novel and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Rated 5 stars.

After the battle of Ignis, Lilith has been taken to the coven of the Elementals to recover. She meets some new people and finds some old friends. Most of all, she must learn to leave her distrust of the Elementals behind and find a new view of the Council.
I really liked the first book in this series. The description of the Five Lands and the different covens was interesting and different. I had some trouble with this book. Lilith has always been difficult in some ways, and here her selfish, whiney tendencies come to the forefront. While she discovers new aspects to her powers, she doesn't do a lot with them in this book. I found it a bit slow; there's a lot of meetings and discussions, but not much happens until the very last part of the story. Lilith is hard to like which made it hard for me to care about her though I do like Willow and want to know more about her.
The writing is fluid and has a nice rhythm which makes the book easy to read. It's an interesting world, and I'm eager to find out what happens in the last book.
