I love reading middle grade books at night: they are cute, don't have too many characters or plot lines, and they're not so juicy I stay up half the night. I absolutely adore the Vanderbeeker series by Karina Van Glaser and The Doughnut Fix was the first book on Book Riots if you liked... list so it had BIG shoes to fill in my Vanderbeeker heart. It did superbly, my entrepreneurship baker heart loved the whole doughnut stand proces. I can't wait to read the next one.

This one is a little narrower in plot and setting but still fun and a good lesson

Laugh-out-loud funny at times, great family relationships - parent/child, siblings - and an engaging plot. A great family read.
