What an amazing book this is. Incredibly clever in the way it draws the reader in and genuinely thrilling and scary.

In my opinion this is a good book because in this book the rabbit is the student and the donkey is the teacher. The rabbit has difficulty focusing on the lesson and is distracted by all there is to learn and do in their field. Eventually the curious nature of the rabbit becomes contagious for the donkey and he too investigates and sees the world from a different perspective. The big idea of this story is that we as teachers learn from our students too. I also like the illustrations in this book because they are colorful and playful which match what is happening in the story.

This book talks about a young boy who is going through a divorce and is sad because they have moved to a new house and he wants to be alone. His mom conforts him by letting him pick out a wallpaper in his room and his excitment sores and he even makes a new friend. This a goos story for kids going through adjustments at home and in their family.

What a sweet book! I really liked how the author didn't reveal the reason for William moving until the end; it kept me on my toes. For a while, I thought he was getting a new room because mom was having a baby; then I thought they just moved when he cried to his mom about missing his old room. William gradually begins to think more optimistically about moving-- like the neighboring house has a little boy his age who also loves being outside and playing dinosaurs! Although shy at first, they quickly warm up to one another when Tom, the new friend, asks Will to join him in his yard on a jungle gym that was exactly like the one WIll had at his old house! The reason William and mom moved turned out that the parents had gotten a divorce! After becoming more settled and Will's room is fully decorated, he wonders how cool his other new room at his dad's will be! The illustrations are incredible, too! They go perfectly with the words.

William is a little boy who is going through many changes. At the beginning of the book, he did not want to move to his new house or sleep in his new room because the change was scary and different. Then, he goes to the store with his mom and finds many new things that he wants for his new room. He meets a friend at his moms new house and realizes that this might not be so bad. He learns to accept the change and is happy to have a new friend and new room. This book can be beneficial for children who are going through hardships within their family.

This book involves an older, slower donkey and a young, lively rabbit. The rabbit is curious to discover and asks the donkey questions about the world around them. Recommend first or second grade.

Summary: This is book about a Pirate named Captain Pepper who is in search for a pet to make him famous. He sends his crew of three out to find one in the jungle to find a pet. As they bring back an variety of animals things go wrong. When they bring back a python, the captain is eaten. The crew finally is able to stop their search and go home, which they are very excited about.
Genre: This is a fantasy book because the crew members are able to capture different wild animals without getting killed and the python eats a whole person. In real life, a python would not eat a whole person.
Medium: Ink and watercolor
Age Appropriateness: K-3 (early chapter book)
Use in a classroom: This book could be used as a beginning chapter book. When kids are able and more confident in their reading skills they can read this book. There are some more complex words in it that they would have to sound out, but there are also easy/familiar words that they would have no difficulty with. This is also a book that boys would like because of the plot, humor and the pirates.

William's mom and dad had divorced so William and his mom moved into another house. William wasn't happy about the move and he couldn't understand why. He didn’t like the new house that they moved into because it didn't have anything that the old house had. His mom let him choose the wallpaper for his room so that he could make it just like his old room but he found something better. He finally got used to his new house and met a friend in the mix. Divorces are hard for kids because it changes everything that they know, and a lot of kids do not like change. I’m more than positive I would have have acted the same way if I was a little kid.
