Scrapbooking: craft, art - or both? The contributors to this book are all of the opinion that their scrapbook pages - which are lavishly illustrated here - are pure art, an effort of self expression and a revelation of the world in which we live. While the book was published more for inspiration than how-to, it appears to me to be an excerise in voyeurism. The edgy, off-the-wall look of the contributors' scrapbooking usually deals in some very personal, sometimes hard to look at, subjects. I wouldn't say their work is "pretty". In fact, some of it is ugly and was done that way intentionally to bring home the page's story. Quite interesting (but not terribly useful, if that is what you are looking for) and notable for it's nod to the artistry of a pasttime which is often scoffed at.… (más)
