This was a good book, well-written with compelling characters, a plot that isn't either too transparent or too opaque and definitely not cliche. However, I won't be reading any more books in the series just because the violence was so pervasive. It was a bit much for me.

Rafferty is suckered into aiding and abetting in a murder and of course it all goes downhill from there. Fifteen years have passed since policeman Rafferty saved Vivian Mollison life from a crazed junkie. Now he is being employed as a private investigator by her parents to trace the bikers who had recently 'kidnapped' her and left her stranded.
An enjoyable quick and easy read, with some likeable wise-cracking characters.

Rafferty is on holiday, alone on a boat. It starts well as he is accused of the murder of Cynthia Lawson, then gets beaten up. This makes him involved. But why was she killed and by whom.
An entertaining crime story
