Wow. Two great MCs, descriptions that pull you right into the middle of the story, and that opening! (No spoilers, but what a way to open a book, you really need to check it out for yourself). I really don't know how, but Bennet made Bez into a character you just absolutely adore by the end of the story. Maybe sexy sadistic devils aren't always all bad? I have to say I definitely identify more with Walter, and I think his anxiety and nerves carried across the page well. If you're looking for a fun romance with a hint of danger and thrills, two MCs that couldn't be more different (yet somehow so right for each other), then this needs to be on top of your TBR pile!… (más)

Wow. I'm struggling to find the words to tell you how much I loved this book. Unforgettable characters, a well-developed magical world, and a grumpy MC you can't help but love. Bennet does an amazing job of building tension, both with the main plot, and the romantic subplot. In a world of magic, where politics are tricky, and danger looms on the horizon, you'll find yourself caught up in Dorian's story, and fall in love with his need to protect those near to him. The magic academy felt very reminiscent of American schools, which just made this feel all the more real. Bennet just seems to have a knack for weaving the supernatural in with the real. An excellent way to start off a new series, and I can't wait to see what book two has in store!… (más)
