Lily is a self-absorbed, slightly stuck-up soccer star who thinks a little too much of her value to the team. The book is a lesson in teamwork, etc, but Lily's just a little too selfish to be very loveable. Not that she's a little prig or anything, but you just don't find yourself connecting to her problems at all, because you just know she'll learn her lesson in the end. It's that kind of book. This is, however, a good book for people who love soccer. It's not bad, it's just not very good. I thought this book was very interesting and has a good thought about friendship. I would definitely suggest this book for anyone who likes sports (especially soccer). This book is a very good book because throughout the book it keeps getting better and better. I would definitely suggest this book and enjoyed reading this book. "Breakaway" is the story of Lily James (L.J.), a young girl who loves soccer. However, like many young, talented sports players, LJ lets her talent go to her head. She starts losing her temper and alienating her friends, family, and teammates. When her behavior leads her to quality time on the bench, it's time for LJ to get a new perspective. I enjoyed reading this book, and I think my students would enjoy it too. Many of my students, especially my boys, are soccer fanatics. Although this book is about a girls' soccer team, I think all students will be able to learn the lessons about sportsmanship and being part of a team that this story teaches. I also think that the girls will enjoy reading a sports book with a strong female main character. Appropriate for grades 5 and up. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
When seventh-grade soccer star LJ befriends Tabitha, who could not be more different from her, LJ learns to curb her competitive nature, which has been slowly alienating her friends. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
