I suspect I have this because Jan Pallister was a colleague of my parents at Bowling Green State University, but it is definitely worth having. It contains poems by Leopold Senghor but also poems by many Latin poets from French and Portuguese Africa (and a few from Spanish America) little known in the US. Most are very much in the expected style of "modern" poetry of the early 20th century, but some vividly convey the African experience both in Africa and elsewhere. (several are set in Harlem, in addition to the Latin American poems.) ( )
