On a windy and overcast day, Tigger is bouncing around the Hundred-Acre Wood looking for his friends. He keeps thinking he hears them, but the sounds always turn out to be something else, and Tigger ends up being soaked or jolted or hogtied. He becomes increasingly lonely and distressed until a thunderstorm begins and drenches his sadness with anxiety. By the time he's reunited with his friends, he's jumping at every little sound. The book ends with a joke about how exhausting it is to be traumatized.
Ummmmmmmm . . . okay . . .
(My Pooh Project: I love Winnie the Pooh, and so does my wife. Having a daughter gave us a chance to indoctrinate her into the cult by buying and reading her every Pooh book we came across. How many is that? I’m going to count them this year by reading and reviewing one every day and seeing which month I finally run out. Track my progress here:
