Star Trek: Spock - Reflections portrays Spock returning to Earth, after a brief stopover in the Veridian system, to take Captain Kirk's remains home following the events of Star Trek: Generations. Though released by IDW Publishing and featuring a cover based on young Spock from the 2009 film, this story does not tie into the new series of films, instead exploring Spock's life in the original timeline. Occasionally, the art reflects some odd choices. The exterior of the U.S.S. Collins, set during The Original Series, looks more like a Motion Picture-era ship. Additionally, Deep Space Station E-5 looks like Starbase 1 from the 2009 film. Though nice to see Spock teaching the Romulans following the events of The Next Generation storyline, "Unification," it does not foreshadow the mission that Star Trek: Countdown featured and that set up the 2009 film. With that in mind, the story feels much more poignant following Leonard Nimoy's death because it reads like an "in memoriam" for both the actor and his portrayal of a beloved character. This is a new film tie-in in the loosest of senses, taking place as it does shortly after Generations. (There is a starbase that looks like the starbase from the film, I suppose. And Spock kinda looks like Zachary Quinto in one picture.) Mostly it is Spock reflecting on his own history, recalling things like his meeting with Captain Harriman on the Enterprise-B, arguments with Sarek, being awkward with Doctor Chapel, and so on. The stated aim of the book is to explain why Spock goes to Romulus, which is briefly alluded to in the film, but it doesn't really do that. A collection of disposable vignettes. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
A Vulcan, on Romulus? Absurd! Or is it? In the follow-up collection to the smash hit Star Trek: Countdown movie prequel, we discover what could drive a man to abandon all he knows and go to live with the Federation's sworn enemy, his real motivations, and how he looks back at what brought him to this place in his life.
