Storyline Online is a project of the Screen Actors Guild that features videos of the Guild's members reading a children's book aloud. Each video also includes a list of related activities and lesson tie-ins. Most of the books on Storyline appear to be picture books, and the readers include Betty White, Al Gore and Sean Astin. Thus, they will appeal most to preschoolers, kindergartners and beginning readers in their early elementary school years.

While Storyline has more of a "commercial" feel to and less comprehensive of a collection than some of the other digital book sites for children, it is appealing with regards to presentation and video quality. Though many young children may not know who Sean Astin or Betty White is, they will enjoy having a story read to them by someone who has training and experience in acting. The storytellers on this site all seem to have good stage presence and know how to work the camera/recording equipment. ( )
