Chief Superintendent Littlejohn is invited to assist in the investigation into the shooting of a banker in France. While the actual crime is less interesting than many in this series there is still much to commend it.
There are well described scenes of the local countryside and of the villages of the area. There is also much about the food and drink consumed by the Chief Superintendent and his friends.
