I actually checked this book out at the library of my school but had to buy myself my own copy because of how much I loved it! The characters are absolutely adorable and make the story such a fun read! I really enjoyed it! ( ) There are some great moments is this book. I love how Bella's relationship with her step brothers have evolved. The humor of where her step father works and what he does with his off time is only something you would read in a YA book. A few things (as in any book I read) I question but it did not stop me from reading this book in one day or picking up the third one. If as a high schooler you always wanted to be Nancy Drew this is a book you will greatly enjoy. I'm loving this series. Bella is back and better than ever in this second book of the Charmed Life trilogy, this time trying to save the prom queen candidates from sabotage and injury while dealing with finding jobs, her ex boyfriend being in her life again, Luke Sullivan, and Piledriver of Dreams, the reality show her stepdad is on as an aspiring wrestler. Funny and full of misadventures, plus some real danger thrown in, I can't wait to read the last in the series. The audio was good as well; I appreciated the narrator giving Bella's inner voice a different sound from her speaking voice, which made it easier to distinguish what everyone else heard. Reviewed by Jaglvr for TeensReadToo.com "I'm so sure." The title pretty much sums up Bella Kirkwood's life in, of all places, Truman, Oklahoma. The first book in the series, SO NOT HAPPENING, introduces the reader to Bella and the circumstances that find her transplanted from Manhattan to Truman. Now, in I'M SO SURE, Bella has settled into a routine and is finding life, actually, surprisingly, not so bad. That is until she is accosted by stalking photographers in the park when she has an almost moment with Luke Sullivan, her editor at the school paper. When she arrives home she's horrified to find out that the camera crew was from World Wrestling Television. Apparently, her stepfather is going to be one of the ten hopeful wrestlers on a new reality TV show. The winner of "Pile Driver of Dreams" gains a place in their professional wrestling ranks. To add insult to injury, her cheating ex-boyfriend, Hunter, calls out of the blue and wants to see her. He's in Tulsa with his father. He apologizes to her, and is fascinated by her faith and forgiveness. He hints at an obscure illness but doesn't give more details, and Bella doesn't want to pry. Luke warns Bella to be cautious around Hunter, but Bella likes the new Hunter before her. And if all that wasn't enough, Bella has to get a job. Her school paper advisor thinks she's the perfect writer for a column on teens working. The problem is the only sure place hiring is the feminine hygiene plant. There is NO WAY she's taking a job there. With all of these situations in Bella's life, the reader can be prepared for a hilarious journey that finds her smack dab in the middle of another mystery and cameras catching her at the most embarrassing moments. I'M SO SURE was even more entertaining that the first book in the series. Don't be put off if you think this is just "Christian Fiction." It's a story for everyone. Ms. Jones doesn't preach at all. Bella does look to God for guidance and reassurance in her daily life, but she is far from perfect, and there is something in Bella that everyone can relate to. I'm already anticipating the third book in the series, SO OVER MY HEAD. But I have to wait until May 2010 to see what else Bella can get into! And please, Ms. Jones, make sure Ruthie is in the story! She was the spunkiest character in the book!!! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML: Think you're having a rough week? Bella's stepdad, a semi-pro wrestler, just signed the entire family up for a reality TV show. Bella's first thought: "Kill. Me. Now." Living in Truman, Oklahoma wasn't 100% miserable for Bella. Sure, she misses Manhattan, couture clothes, and her dad. But she was making new friends at Truman High and almost enjoying her work at the school newspaper. Then the whole stepdad-wrestler-reality-show issue hit and her life is now being splashed across weekly tabloids and broadcast news. As if having a camera crew following her around isn't bad enough, Bella soon discovers a conspiracy against the Truman High prom queen candidates. And the closer she gets to the answer, the more danger she's in. As her relationship with Luke teeters between friendship and romance, Bella's ex-boyfriend Hunter reappears and vies for Bella's attention. Denying allegations of a love triangle, working to solve the prom queen mystery, and trying to keep her cool on national television finally motivate Bella to start talking--and listening--to God more. But what comes next has Bella once again screaming: "I'M. SO. SURE." .No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
