Additionally, I am a non-coder who has intended to learn Javascript properly for the past, I don't know, eight years but always got distracted. Allsopp's thumbnail sketch starts at the correct place - the DOM, not "Hello world" - and taught me more about web programming in a chapter than I'd learned since high school. Awesome!
If you know a person who has been designing website the same way for the past ten years, give them this book, because they probably don't know what they're missing. (
