I liked the book because of the point of view from the dog, Josh. He is a mutt and wants to become a St. Bernard, which eventually he does. He loved the idea of saving someone’s life by finding them and bringing them a hot drink in his barrel. At the end of the story, Josh finds Santa buried in the snow and saves him and Christmas! On the other hand, I did not like this book due to the writing. Some pages were short paragraphs like in other children books but on other pages the text took up a page and a half. This would not have been an issue if they choose to publish the book in a different as it was harsh to read. But the book was in an organized manner and I did appreciate that. The main message from this book was that you do your very best and to believe in yourself when no one else does. This was important in the book because all the other dogs laughed and made fun of Josh for wanting to become a St. Bernard but he overcame that and was a “St. Bernard”.
