These women include Pocahontas, Harriet Tubman, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Clara Barton, Emily Dickinson, Mary Cassatt, Helen Keller, Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, and Margaret Mead. These women impacted the way that society is today and fought for justice in different ways. In my opinion, this is a book that every child should read/hear because it gives a great insight into history and it shows the actions that led up to how things are today. ( ) This book profiled ten women who made a big impact in America. The women that they book profiled are: Pocahontas, Harriet Tubman, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Clara Barton, Mary Cassatt, Helen Keller, Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, and Margaret Mead. It was an easy book to read. I probably would read one woman a day in my classroom. The illustrations were very bland. This amazing collection of stories about women who made a difference in America will move you. Not only does this book educate you but it shows you how hard women had it in the past. Many of these women's stories connect to one another. The book chose women of different races and cultures. Some familiar women to most are Pocahontas,Harriet Tubman, Helen Keller, and Emily Dickinson. The author includes their life history and their impact on America. I would read each story to my class when discussing different parts of history that relate to the person. I could also read the whole book when talking about Women's Rights. History plays a major role in society. As children, we start learning about historical events from the moment we walk into school. This book is about all the women who made a difference in America and how they did it. I would use this book to assist in my history lessons just so the students could get a better understanding. If you were a woman, and you were doing something great, you were looked down upon by men, but were a great inspiration to the women surrounding. Sisters in Strength is a book made up of many short biographies of women in America that have made a difference in the lives of others. These women have influenced how other women and races are treated, how women are perceived in society, and their stories will be forever told as advocates for women's rights. Each woman has impacted how the future has changed. Harriet Tubman helped to free slaves and end slavery; Emily Dickinson introduced us to her beautiful poetry; Helen Keller helped change how the blind learned to read and write; Eleanor Roosevelt helped change a nation with the assistance of her husband. I feel that this book is a great way to teach about many of the great advocates for equal rights. These women have dedicated their lives to bettering others for the future. WIthout their contributions, many events in history may not have every happened. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
