I liked the book for two reasons. First, the illustrations certainly enhance the book. The photographs in the book are real photographs. This allows young readers to see photos of actual lions in their habitat. Utilizing real photographs also helps students distinguish between differentiate between different types of lions and genders of lions. The second reason I liked this book is because of the plot. The book begins with a table of contents that goes through each important fact about a lion(s). Some of the topics include: What is a lion? where do lions live? Lion families, and what do lions eat? Then, each page is designated to a topic. Readers can easily read about each topic by referencing to the table of contents to find it. The big idea of this book is to inform readers about lions. ( ) Lion Talk presents basic factual information about lions with real photographs, and includes a Did You Know? section on each page explaining a fact about lions that also applies to the broader category cats. I liked this book and would use it in my teaching because it was informational in an understandable yet interesting way. I feel this book would be appropriate for Grades 1-3 to supplement discussions on animals, efferent reading, or non-fiction. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
