Lynne writes about her years with excruciating chronic pain due to a prior car accident in which her neck was broken/fractured but never gave her trouble until years later. She is married with 2 children when something changed and her neck was now causing blinding headaches. After numerous doctors and treatments and fusion surgery collegeshe ends up bedridden for a year in which she can't work (she's a professor at a college teaching poetry). She finally found a doctor who helps but first she has to withdraw from Methadone- she has become addicted to paid pills. ( )
