This is a story of older men who achieve satisfaction from watching the erotic antics of more potent others. The author recounts his youthful experiences to a certain Capt. Baer, experiences that involve the development of a lusty liaison with the young, recently married wife of one of his college professors. His suspicions that her husband, lacking in potency, has connived in the liaison proves correct, and he further discovers that the professor has made a financial arrangement with two rich male friends who wish to watch the proceedings. Murray confides to Baer the way he chooses to humiliate the professor, with the willing assistance of a second student, and he gives lengthy detail on how the professor's voyeuristic predilection developed. The book is somewhat verbose, considerably diluting the erotic content, although it certainly contains graphic detail on the various entanglements involved. ( )
