Simon Pulse Romantic Comedies are always a fun read. These books are not necessarily the best written novels but the stories are always fun and you know you will get a happy ending. I think some adult romances could take a note from these books b/c they are characterized well which is much of the battle in writing any novel since you want your characters, for the most part, to be endearing and relatable. Things you should never do that involve a new guy:

* Never fall for the guy the very first day at your very first university, and then hang out with him constantly.
* Never allow him to think it would be best to go on a break.
* Never let him leave, during the break of the relationship, to go to Australia. There is no possible way that things will work out!
* Never act coy about the whole situation - get him to talk since he's going to be Down Under (but hopefully not for long).
* Never have him replaced by a hot guy with an accent (an Australian one to be exact).

Unfortunately, all these things that you should never do? Alyssa has done them all.

Now she's stuck during winter break without her "boyfriend," Rick, a new Australian roomie, and thoughts on whether or not Rick will stay true to her, or even if she will stay true to him.

Rachel Hawthorne never fails to entertain with her seasonal novels, and SUITE DREAMS is one of the finest. Ms. Hawthorne is able to perfectly capture the woes of first love and first boyfriends.

What's the best part? Seeing the main character get stronger and understanding exactly what is best for her - and not for some guy! ( )
