Jude Deveraux is an author I first read many years ago and while some of her books definitely do not age well I do think the Velvet Montgomery Annuals Quadrilogy books do continue to be basically enjoyable to read. I have always enjoyed the interactions her characters have had and the places she sets the story. The plot can be a bit thin but overall I think it's a good beach read. ( ) The last of the Velvet books and we get to read all about Miles and Elizabeth falling in love. They had a lot of rough things to go through so they could really be together. If you have read the other Velvet books then you know the extent of the problems between the Montgomerys and the Chatworths. Well Elizabeth is a Chatworth! Fighting, romance, humor, plot twists. This story will keep you well involved. We also get to see a lot more of all the previous Velvet Couples which is fantastic. The story will keep you on your toes never quite knowing what will happen. Loved this book. Fourth and last in the "Velvet" series, this one follows the youngest brother, Miles, in his relationship with Elizabeth Chatworth -- which ties up the conflict of the series as a whole. I found this book frustrating; the fact that the author and the audience know from the beginning that Miles and Elizabeth will end up together (it's mentioned in the previous book, which overlaps slightly in timeline) means that the author simply launches Miles at Elizabeth with all the subtlety of a cannon, leaving any audience members who expect the characters to actually have a relationship going "WTF?" However, the book doesn't contain the patented Deveraux realization scene, and the last section -- bringing together the four fabulous Montgomery women -- is definitely worth the read. From BackCover: At last, the soaring, breathless, tumultuous climax of the Montgomery Annals ... She came to him as a precious gift, a naked angel rolled in a rug. Once he gazed into her green eyes, saw her tangle of honey blond hair, he was undone with passion. Elizabeth would never surrender. He was a hated Montgomery - she was a Chatworth -- and the blood war between their families raged on, a wildfire of rape, murder and betrayal. Elizabeth vowed to fight the handsome lord, to resist the burning desire in his eyes and the rough sweetness of his kisses. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
