Cardboard, one-note characters - the naif, the cunning, charming man, the good guy in the background...Haven's almost interesting, but her only real role is obsessively loyal daughter. She knows Laura better than anyone, she knows her father better than most anyone...and she still blames Laura and exonerates Zane? Yeah, no. And Zane is magically charming and convincing and bleah. Sly barely exists except "the guy who actually does love Laura" - the coitus interruptus was mildly amusing, though. Catriona actually had a reasonable about-turn - not easy, and not complete, but hopeful. Zane's turnaround I don't believe at all (for one thing, it seems to happen way too fast - though that may be a function of how time accelerates at the end of the book). Laura's arc of seeking love is...well, not very convincing, on a lot of levels. And she's lucky Sly was on his way over or that confrontation might have ended a lot worse - she handled it really stupidly. Not a winner. ( ) Oh Sly, I have a soft spot for men who likes cats. He’s very sweet and down to Earth, and I honestly love his musical inclinations. The Story probably settled a lot of issues in regards to Laura’s childhood, she has to face some disappointments and heartaches in order for her to grow as a person. The author doesn’t make Sly the focus of Laura’s growth but she told the story in a way a woman can stand up after everything has fallen apart. Like a pheonix that burns out Laura was able to recover and rise again from ashes. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
