Colour of images is lovely for casual page flippers but without legends to interpret the images the information relayed to the reader is severely limited. The volume may best be used to portray a sense of awe about the beauty of Earth and civilization's destructive impact on that beauty. ( ) Not an atlas of the world, despite the title; rather, selected imagery of selected places across the globe, at varying scales and showing various kinds of features (depending upon the kind of light imaged). Don't expect to find a decently-resolved image of any particular place, area, or region. Text is as much about how satellite imaging is done and how the images are employed, as about what is actually on the images in the book. I found the most interesting images to be the whole-earth ones. As a book – that is, an organized presentation of information – I found this disappointing (and as a reference, like, say, an atlas, it would be all but useless); but the images, however disconnected from one another, are quite good, earning it an average rating. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
