I ordered this book hoping it would be full of pictures of the fashions of one of my favourite designers, the great YSL. However, that is not this book (the perils of ordering online i guess).

Rather, it is stills from a documentary made about the YSL completing a collection, as well as additional archival material. It is still quite a good book - the book itself is beautiful, large and square with a hot fuschia cover and the same coloured ribbon bookmarks. And you do learn a bit about putting a collection together from the written commentary. There are few pictures of the actual clothes, but some of the photos give a good idea of the frenzy within a fashion house as the day of showing a collection grows near.

Probably only a book for YSL fans, which means it is fine by me :) ( )
