This is an unusual photography book in that there is very little technical detail of any kind. It's not so much about "how to" as "why". Benvie goes a lot into his feelings about the different kinds of landscape and why he takes photographs. This is not so much a manual for a beginner who is just getting into landscape, more a book of reflections for someone who has been doing landcape photography for a while and is trying to look deeper into his own motivations and aims.
