Series note: While this is book #4, it and all the previous books can be read as stand alones as there is no continuous storyline and it is rare for a an earlier character to put in an appearance.

Faith Duffy married for money and is not ashamed to admit it. A former stripper, her elderly husband offered her the safety and security she had always craved, and now that he has passed, she finds herself the reluctant owner of the Chinooks hockey team - the only problem: She knows nothing about hockey.

Team captain Ty Savage is determined to win the Stanley Cup and has not intention of allowing the, the new owner, whom he views as a ditzy blond bimbo, to ruin his chances - the only problem: Whenever they get together, sparks fly.

Faith is a straightforward, honest and likable heroine, and Ty is sexy and caring despite his initially judgmental attitude. The two share some lovely banter and an intense chemistry.

The sports descriptions are, thankfully, kept to a minimum, and the minor plot involving Faith's obnoxious stepson is relatively angst and drama free.

All in all, a light and fun read for lovers of contemporary sports romances. ( )

This was kinda the perfect romance novel. Ridiculous but touching. I loved the main characters and how frank they were with each other.

It's the story of Faith Duffy and Ty Savage - she inherits the hockey team from her very elderly husband, and he's the captain of the team. She's a former Play Mate and it sets up quite a lot of funny scenarios with the hockey players. They soon learn that she's hard headed and determined. Ty is the lover extraordinaire who makes a reality of the lusty life she's represented but has actually never lived. ( )

While this book was cute, it was also a bit annoying at parts. If you have a character quite convinced that they shouldn't do something, then if they later do it... They need to have a damned good reason. I didn't feel like either Faith or Ty were believable in that way, so the book just read like them making a long list of things they shouldn't do, then doing them with no real catalyst involved.

Also, that was one crazy rushed ending and I felt no closure at all. I felt like too many things were suddenly happening and none of them made sense.

So yea, didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as Sam's story. ( )

An enjoyable story especially if you like hockey but the relationship transition from cold to hot was too abrupt and I never felt the heroine ever really took charge of her life. I skimmed some near the end. Faith's newly deceased husband leaves her a hockey team captained by Ty.
