Quilting and Color Made Easy - by Susan McKelvey and Janet Wickell - is the ultimate resource for polishing your quilting skills and exploring new fabric colors and textures. If you've ever started a quilt and found that you needed more guidance than the pattern offered, you'll find all the help you need in this user-friendly book. From cutting patchwork pieces more accurately using quick rotary-cutting techniques to choosing and marking a stunning quilting design, you'll discover newer, speedier methods and sewing tips that will save you time, improve your accuracy, and help you become a better quilter. Choosing colors and fabrics is probably the most exciting part of quiltmaking, yet many quilters feel unsure about combining colors, textures, and prints. Explore the many color exercises and the workbook section included in this book. You'll learn to make more satisfying color choices, create sparkle with an accent color, and combine colors in the right proportions for more eye-catching quilts. Nothing is more fun to play with than color! Once you know how to make color choices with confidence, you'll be amazed at how harmonious your quilt colors are!… (más)

The title of this book may suggest color theory, but the book is in two parts. The first half is a basic guide to quilting, covering cutting, piecing, applique, sets/borders/bindings, and quilting. The second half addresses color issues, including the color wheel, color contrast, reproduction fabrics, color schemes, and pattern scale. Nothing new or exciting here. I actually bought the book for its photos of some antique quilts I had not seen before.
