This is a really fascinating read, either from a spiritual or a purely academic point of view. While the subject itself is quite complex, Sri Chinmoy explains the intricacies of kundalini yoga in comprehensive and easily understandable terms. I found that although I am not interested in pursuing many of these practices, learning about kundalini reminded me very tangibly of the divinity and power we each hold within us. It is written from the point of view of someone who has transcended the need to develop these particular yogic powers for their own sake, and thus carries a unique authority on the subject. Sri Chinmoy not only covers the principles, but warns of the dangers that can arise from an insincere or misguided quest for power, and he makes practical recommendations on how to proceed safely. ( )
