Concise - effectively and entertainingly gets the theme of 'either share or get your come-uppance' across in fewer words that it's taking me to write this review. Funny, cute, and, yes, sweet. I will look for more stories about Sheila Rae and Louise. ( ) Kevin Henkes wrote and illustrated this short tale about two sister mice with only one peppermint stick. Sheila Rae, the older sister, does a little bit of taunting, but Louise gets some of the candy too. The sweet illustrations accompany a story that shows an imperfect character; little siblings will identify with the experience of having a cantankerous older siblings, and older ones will know how hard it is to share everything. This is an excellent book for the pre-school set. This 2001 offering from Henkes was the first of a series that recycles past characters in short, weak, overpriced, holiday-themed stories. These can be read in a minute or less. so they are rather ineffective as a bedtime delaying tactic. As a parent of a child who loved the original stories, it's been impossible to avoid purchasing these mini-sequels; but I sure haven't felt like we've been getting much for our money. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
