This was recommended by our favorite children's librarian, who knows Z's love for strange and poetic read alouds that can be taken purely for their use of words or for a deeper meaning. It didn't disappoint, except for the last story which was far more obviously sad than the others and which, as Z said, didn't have the same rhythms as the others in the collection. ( )

Pam recommended this last year based on Z's love of poetic prose. He loved it, as did I. Forgot to add it here until I picked up a copy of More Rootabaga Stories at Value Village last night. ( )
