This book does just that by comparing snow to other types of weather such as rain, hail, and ice. That being said, the first of three reasons why I enjoyed this book is that the story goes to describe the differences of rain, hail, ice, and snow. Even though this book is about snow, it doesn’t immediately start talking about snow and what you can do in it. Instead, it goes to describe the difference in sounds rain, hail, and ice make compared to snow; “I am not rain. I do not drip, drip, drip” (Marzollo, pg. 2). By this being done, it will help prevent children from confusing one weather effect/sound with another. Second, I liked how the story went into detail on how a snowflake looked both close up and far away. There was then a moment where the reader could connect to the story. This connection occurs when the story mentions being able to catch a snowflake in your mitten. It then lets the reader know that all snowflakes are different, but they all have six sides which was a very interesting fact that the reader can test on their own by catching snowflakes in their mittens. Third, this book had great illustrations with realistic details and It made me very excited for future snow. Overall, I vey much enjoyed this book. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
