Reviewed by Erikka Adams, aka "The Bookbinder" for TeensReadToo.com The environment is in peril right now, and change needs to happen right now. But who can do anything to change this...to stop such a big problem? There is someone who can make a difference: you. You, me, and everyone we know! Find all this and more in GENERATION GREEN - Easy to understand language explaining the issues affecting the planet. TONS of tips, how-to guides, and advice for teens to be more green in their lives. Interviews with teens on what THEY already do to be green and what YOU as the reader can try, too. And inspiration and support for teens - possibly one of the strongest and most influential but overlooked groups of people on this planet - to begin making changes they want to see on Earth. So next time you pick up a book like this and finish reading it, you might want to ask yourself - how Green can you go....how Green can you go.... Could be a useful resource for a person wanting to go green. Generation Green by Linda Sivertsen and Tosh Sivertsen* Can’t really rate this material. Generation Green: The Ultimate Teen Guide to Living an Eco-Friendly Life is designed to help you learn how to go about your every day life while being green. To live a green life you first have to understand The Green Machine, the environment. Once you grasp the largeness of its effect on us, you can begin follow a few Green Ideas that will help you live a healthy, green life. Green Idea One: Green Machine. What’s happening to our environment? Green Idea Two: Eating Green. What foods are green and what aren‘t. Green Idea Three: Green Begins At Home. How to green up your living conditions. Green Idea Four: Guilt-Free Shopping. How to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink, and Refuse. Green Idea Five: Hanging Out Green. How to hang out and party the green way. Green Idea Six: Green Wheels. What vehicles are energy efficient? Green Idea Seven: Greener Schools and Careers. How can school be greener? What are some green jobs? Green Idea Eight: Step Up And Speak Out. How to make a green difference. Green Idea Nine: A Day In A Green Life How to make every day a green day. Besides the fact that this book is nonfiction, it’s just suppose to be a helpful guide for people who wish to live that lifestyle. That makes it really hard to even go about rating it. So thus, I can’t really rate this material. If you agree with the author’s philosophy/views, and you wish to learn how to live out a greener life, then yes I suggest this book. It contains tons of interesting, and uncommon ways to live green. Example: Host a Really Really Free Market, which is like a huge garage sale but everything is actually free. Tada! You just Recycled. Since I don’t agree with everything stated by the authors, and I have different views I can’t really review this book as accurately as I could a book written by a person who shares my beliefs. Generation Green could be a useful resource for a person wanting to go green, but other than that I don’t see any need to read it. Date Reviewed: September 20th, 2008 sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

I think this book would be useful in the classroom for a student that was interested in the environment. It would be great for extra reading. It would also be nice to recommend for a student to read if they were thinking about starting a new project for the school. However, I don't think I would use this book as an entire class read.
I liked this book. I don't believe it will cause any changes in my life, but it was a very nice idea. I also enjoyed that the mother and son wrote this book together. It's great that the soon is fresh out of high school because it shows that someone is never too young to do something big or to make steps to save their planet.
