"Do you want to know what holiness is? It is pure love," writes Samuel Brengle. In HELPS TO HOLINESS he explains what holiness is and how to get it. Learn how to deal with hindrances and temptations. Discover the secret of spiritual power and how to maintain it. Understand how God turns faith into grace and what to do if you slip or backslide. Draw inspiration for prayer from the examples of great soul-winners and the testimony of modern witnesses. Be at perfect peace. Samuel Logan Brengle was saved as a young adult. Called to preach, he studied at Indiana Asbury University and Boston Theological Seminary. Initially an intinerant preacher for the Methodists, after hearing William Booth preach he joined the Salvation Army and trained with them in London, England. On his return to the United States, Brengle's gifts as a preacher won him widespread recognition. He wrote HELPS TO HOLINESS while recovering from an injury sustained during his ministry in Boston. Brengle's leadership skills led to his being appointed Commissioner of the Salvation Army. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
