When Reagan took office the authors clearly believe that the Soviets did not understand the Americans and were alarmed by many of his early statements. What makes the 35 year old book so valuable today is that politicians are constantly suggesting that war may come between China and the US and the standoff may be between the US and what is now the country holding our debt. There are also issues about the 3rd world countries of which one author suggested there might be 20 by the end of the 20th century.
