Suffice to say... I'm the type that usually says realism makes things more sexy cause, well, uh, it feels more real, but this story still took me a while to get in to because it isn't your usual momentum building romance. It might turn off fans of traditional yaoi. The men are definitely more like gay men than the feminine bishounen who usually populate the genre. I mean that in both a good way (I don't like girly yaoi men), but also with some trepidation (I'm still a girl, and can't get away from the desire to see men in yaoi created the way I (a girl) would like them). But in the end, there was no way this blessedly more realistic, mature, intelligent, sometimes gently humorous story with its wonderful way of recognizing the cloudiness and jumble feelings of romance, love, and sexual attraction can have could NOT win me over in the end.
THANK YOU GOD for giving us Miyamoto Kano. This will not be the last time I read her. ( )
