This was the first Melissa Hill book I read, so the trademark twist caught me completely by surprise. Really enjoyable. ( )

This was the first Melissa Hill book that I read and I LOVED it. It took me a moment to realise that there were two stories going on but once I figured this out I couldn't put it down. I also loved how the two stories came together and made me feel more for all the characters. Plenty of twists, turns and suspense. ( )

This was the first Melissa Hill book I read and it remains my favourite. When you're unfamiliar with the way she manages to works twists into all her plot lines they take you totally by surprise - which definitely happened more than once throughout this story. A very cleverly orchestrated story that keeps you guessing right until the end ( )

Kept me guessing.

The story opens with a proposal of marriage. The three main women in one part of the story are three very different characters. Eve is a housewife whose partner doesn't seem to appreciate how much she really does. Sam is a writer trying to figure out if she wants to marry the guy who wants her to devote her life to him and abandon her writing and Anne is a teacher, engaged for a long while to a man who seems to like her but she's not sure that she loves her.

And then there's the framing story, that of Brooke, an aquisitions editor for an Australian imprint, trying to work out how all this works.

I originally thought that this framing device was actually nothing to do with the story but it does and how it does is very interesting.

I liked it, excepting the fact that it kept me up finishing it! ( )

I loved this book and was totally engrossed from start to finish. Lots of un-expected twists and turns, I even found myself yelling "you can't do that" at the author from time to time. Well worth the read ( )
