Patrick Dixon has written several books on ethical issues -- this is his first novel. Air ambulance doctor, David Miller, is clinging onto the threads of his career and love life at the best of times. When he starts to probe into the unscheduled stops his plane is having to make and the dubious cargo they're carrying, it seems that someone would rather his life was cut off altogether. Meanwhile a lethal virus has come to the attention of the MOD at the Porton Down Germ Warfare Research labs. It seems that a large amount of this virus has been released into the milk that the nation drinks, but how can the government avoid yet another health scare? When the Prime Minister's family itself is affected, there is nothing they can do but warn the nation of the impending crisis. Moreover, the same virus is beginning to strike elsewhere around the world. As he begins to question who is threatening the nation and the world, he finds himself in a web of scientific experiments and deadly situations. Do these people think they can change the course of the world with their nightmarish warfare?… (más)

This complex plot will interest conspiracy theorists, but was too convoluted for me. It moves along at a pace, which makes up in part for the apparent lack of direction. ( )
