This early chapter book is part of the Capital Mysteries series of books. KC and Marshall are at the National Zoo, playing with the two new tiger cubs. There are a wealthy family from China that is bringing their Tiger's Eye to lend to the Zoo to help raise money to save the tigers in the wild. At the banquet, the power goes out and the Tiger's Eye goes missing. Through their problem solving and dedicative work KC and Marshall reenact the night of the crime to see if they can figure out who did it and where the treasure went. For me, this was a very entertaining book with just the right amount of dialog and action.

This is a great book to have in the classroom for children's independent reading time. This will take them multiple session to read through the whole book, but this will captivate their attention. Between the baby tigers, and the mystery of the missing jewels to how the kids solved the crime, this is a very enjoyable book. This is a great option for building children's stamina for reading. ( )
