The author was a participant of the 125 OVI, "Opdycke's Tigers" which distinguised itself at Snodgrass Hill and Franklin amoung many battles. The editors have used the orignal work and added many photographs collected by the editors. The book is a first person accounting of the daily activities of interest throughout the war. The book concentrates on the human interest side and not the history. There are some nuggets of information such as the Union troops willingness to loan Confederate soldiers Union uniforms, after the war's end to enable the Johnnies to ride the trains home. Orders had been written that only Union troops were allowed to board trains from Eastern Tennessee heading west. There is little information that adds to the historical side but is a quick read and adds insights to the soldiers daily life. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
