It's crazy that this book is marketed for children! Beautiful illustrations and explanations make this perfect for anyone wanting to understand the times and reasons for castles, maintenance, and lifestyles of those within. There is a maplet denoting approximately where castles or their ruins can be found. Only one in Norway, but a whole nest of them in Syria and Japan! Works very well for this adult. ( )
