Especially interesting as a document of the band as it neared the height of its fame. The book ends with 1994, after the massive success of "Parklife," but before the feud with Oasis had become notable enough even to warrant a mention. Nice selection of photographs, although some of the pages are padded out with photographs of bands that are barely even mentioned in the text (e.g. Pulp, Led Zeppelin, My Bloody Valentine). Written, by a music journalist who covered the band for "Melody Maker," in a lively, opinionated style that makes for fun reading. The author reports that the band's original name, "Seymour," was a creation of Albarn's imagination, whereas in later accounts Albarn claimed the name was an allusion to a character who appears in multiple J.D. Salinger stories. One wonders if Albarn changed his story, or if the author just got the information wrong. One thing I liked about this book is that it skips much of the back story. After reading multiple books about Blur, I'm no longer that interested in reading about the band's (or, more specifically, Albarn and Coxon's) Colchester experiences--unless, of course, an author were to uncover new information. So I guess my four star rating is partially in comparison to other fan books on the subject. ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
