This graphic novel blends several different genres by telling a fictional story to explain the basic science of sound. My Personal Reaction:
I was very surprised to be able to find a nonfiction graphic novel, that would still interest students! This series is absolutely wonderful, and is very engaging. My favorite aspect of the series is that it does not make anyhting sound dumbed down, but still explains what complex terms means in a clear and understandable way. I wish this series had been around when I was in school!

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. Have students pick their favorite thing they learned about in science that year, and make a comic strip to explain it.
2. Have students create a fictional character like Max Axiom for their very own comic strip.
