I would read this book around Christmas time. The shine man is a homeless man that likes to shine shoes. A child come up to him and the shine man realizes how the child is under dressed for the winter. He gives him his hat and his gloves. Eventually, he decides to polish the boy's shoes. The boy's body begins to shine and you find that he is supposed to be Christ.

During depression Larry, a shoe polisher who tried to earn some money for his living. He earn no money on that day and met a boy who seem in more need then he. Larry offer the boy bit by bits of all he had. He then died from the cold and recognize the little bitty he gave to the boy, he gave it to Jesus who so please and take him to heaven. ( )
