It's clear from the cover this book is true to it's title. Anyone looking for a book about spiders need simply take glance to note the perfect match. Using a predictable format of photo on one page, balance text on opposite page through the book, Nic Bishop presents stunning photography and very interesting information to kids and adults alike. It's apparent Nic Bishop had design in mind because he uses font size to emphasize key information reflected in the paired photograph to draw the readers attention. Highly readable and excellent pacing.

This book is a great informational book about spiders and I absolutely loved it even though I am terrified of spiders. There are various photographs throughout the book that are very detailed and clear. The colors throughout the photographs and pages are beautiful. The book provides a great deal of information about spiders, and not just general information but information about various types of spiders. It talks about the characteristics, features, appetite, and qualities about the spiders. I really liked how the book included great text features such as captions, a table on contents, different text fonts and colors, an index, and glossary. I also really liked that it was a bit interactive and it included a pull out page that enlarged the photograph a bit. I think that this book is very educational but it keeps the readers engaged and hooked, it is a fascinating book. ( )

A non fiction book full of very interesting facts about spiders. Describes sizes, types, how many eyes and how they use it. Nic Bishop also describes how many legs the spiders have, their colors, how they catch their preys. Also about tarantulas and how they behave, and that they are the biggest spiders of all. In the back page, there is a note about the author. It says that he has a doctorate in biological science, and is also the photographer of his books. Images are all realistic photos of the spiders in their habitat. ( )

I enjoyed, and was somewhat terrified by, the extreme close up images of the various Spiders. I thought that it was interesting how the author did not mention which Spider the individual characteristics belonged to.
